The innovator in the production of roofing materials EUROSHIELD in 2013 launched a new product on the market – Tiles of 75% consisting of processed old car tires. The new tile is in no way inferior in quality and durability to other types of roofing.
Tiles production technology of tiles
Production starts with the removal of the cord of the tires, after which the tires are crushed into large pieces that are polished.
Then the resulting pieces are covered with sawdust or slate powder. To create the texture of the tiles, it is laid in special forms that are sent to the oven for warming up. Climbs are already installed on the finished material that allow you to easily fasten the resulting tiles.
If we talk about Euroshield (and produces such a tile now not only it), then the size of such tiles is 90 cm by 90 cm. To lay the roof of a standard house may need from 600 to 1000 such tiles that there are not so many.
Advantages «covered» Tiles
Firstly, at the output a fairly strong rubberized material is obtained that is not afraid of loads. Therefore, such a tile is suitable not only for curly roofs, but also for flat roofs with the verandas, that is, actively operated.
Secondly, such tiles are absolutely not subject to deformation, as well as the formation of cracks and chips. Warranty of service life – 50 years.
This is a fairly environmentally friendly material on which rot and mold do not form
Modern design solutions allow you to create a roofing of tires that imitates not only concrete and standard slate, but also wood (in this case, the price increases significantly)
Well, to the question of ecology – Old tires are garbage, which does not decompose, clogging the environment. Coverage landfills around the world have become a scourge of ecology, since it is expensive to burn their business with incredible air pollution. Secondary use of tires with minimal processing can solve this problem (complete processing of old tires – The case is also very expensive, it’s often easier and cheaper to use new materials).
Modern building technologies involve the use of old tires not only in the roofing area. Recently we wrote an article about the use of tires in road construction.
