At MWC 2025, Google announced that the long-awaited Project Astra AI assistant will be available in March. It is reportedly capable of “reading” the contents of a device’s screen in real time.
This technology allows users to interact with the neural network in the format of a phone call. Once activated, users can ask the AI any questions related to what is displayed on the display, including through the camera.
Judging by the demo videos, the bot is capable of maintaining a full-fledged conversation, remembering previous questions and taking into account the context when answering. For example, you can open a model of trousers you like on the marketplace and ask which T-shirt would go best with them. The answer will be detailed, reasoned and useful. Then you can choose a jacket, shoes, and so on.
