The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has announced the expansion of the export control list. It includes 15 American companies, the department’s website reports.
The list includes: Leidos, Gibbs & Cox, IP Video Market Info, Sourcemap, Skydio, Rapid Flight, Red Six Solutions, Shield AI, HavocAI, Neros Technologies, Group W, Aerkomm, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems and Aero Vironment, TASS reports.
According to Beijing, they “pose a threat to China’s national security and interests.” Being included in the list means that they are prohibited from exporting dual-use goods.
In August 2024, the US administration added more than 40 Chinese firms to the export control list, including those that supplied machine tools and microelectronics to Russia. The reason given was their alleged support for the Russian military-industrial complex.
Relations between the two countries worsened after Donald Trump took office as US President, who imposed 10% duties on all Chinese imports. Beijing responded by imposing a 15% tariff on U.S. coal and gas, and a 10% tariff on oil, agricultural machinery and cars. On March 4, Mr. Trump increased import duties on Chinese goods to 20%. He claims China has failed to take “adequate steps” to combat synthetic opioids. China has promised to retaliate.
