Future conducted a study of user behavior when interacting with neural networks and found that more than half of respondents are polite when communicating with them.
At the same time, 12% of respondents explain this by concerns about a possible uprising of machines.
Over 1,000 residents of the United States and Great Britain took part in the survey. 67% of Americans and 71% of Britons reported being polite with bots. Over the past three months, these figures have increased by 3% and 11%, respectively.
If we analyze statistics for the United States, 82% of respondents who are polite do so solely because they find such communication more pleasant. The remaining 18% consider this a kind of insurance in case AI ever seizes power in the world. By the way, among the British, 17% keep such a scenario in mind.
