At the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Lenovo and Infinix presented innovative devices that can be charged using solar energy. Among them are the Lenovo Yoga Solar PC concept laptop with a solar panel and Infinix smartphones with perovskite solar batteries.
Lenovo’s Yoga Solar PC laptop has a solar panel located on the lid. It uses innovative Back Contact Cell technology, where contacts are placed on the back of the solar cells, which maximizes the surface for absorbing light and increases the efficiency of the panel to 24%. According to the company, 20 minutes of exposure to direct sunlight is enough to charge the laptop for one hour of video playback. At the same time, the device remains very compact and lightweight: its thickness is only 15 mm, and its weight is 1.22 kg.
Inside, the Yoga Solar PC is an Intel Lunar Lake processor, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The laptop also features a 14-inch OLED display, making it attractive for both work and multimedia tasks. Lenovo engineers have provided a dynamic charging system that adjusts the current and voltage depending on the light intensity, which helps save energy and extends the battery life.
